Cornish Pirates have secured the services of South African lock Shaun Pammenter until the end of the season.

Pammenter, 30, will provide a boost to a Pirates squad that has already been hit by injuries to several key players.

The 6ft 4in forward, who weighs in at 17 stone, was a key member of National Two champions Birmingham & Solihull's squad last season.

The Durban born player has also plied his trade for Natal Wildebeest in South Africa's Vodacom Cup competition.
