Cornish skateboarder Sam Bosworth re-wrote the history books this summer by winning gold at the X Games in Los Angeles.
In doing so Bosworth became the first ever British champion of an X Games skate contest, an achievement made all the more remarkable by the fact that he is only 14-years-old.
The X Games are an annual event for extreme action sports and have been held in the United States since 1995.
Bosworth topped the podium in the 'Vert' [vertical ramp] class, ahead of the UK's Sam Beckett [silver] and Brazil's Pedro Barros, who finished third.
The Cornish youngster first encountered skateboarding aged six, when his grandmother bought him a board.
Since then, Bosworth has risen through the ranks of Vert skaters to his current position as one of the world's best amateurs.
And the 14-year-old is quick to acknowledge the crucial role his parents have played in his development.
He told BBC Spotlight: "My parents are possibly the best parents you could have.
Without this place I wouldn't be skating still, I'd just be another little kid on the street

"Wherever I want to go they're supportive of it, they'll come with me or if not they'll get someone to take me, they're just amazing."
Bosworth is now firmly on the path towards a career as a professional skater and is regularly whisked off around the world to appear at high-profile extreme sports events.
But, the talented youngster is keen to make sure he still gets a proper education.
He said: "I do try my hardest to keep up and my school Mounts Bay are really supportive.
"They're a really good school to go to if you're good at sport and are going to travel a lot because they're really supportive and they put programmes in place."
In amongst his foreign trips and schoolwork, Bosworth also makes regular visits back to the spot where he first stepped onto the Vert ramp, Mount Hawke skate park, just outside of Truro.
"Without this place I wouldn't be skating still, I'd just be another little kid on the street," he added.
