Vagabonds produced their best performance of the season on Saturday to beat high-flying Anselmians 15-11 at Glencrutchery Road. The visitors from the Wirral took the lead after just 30 seconds before the Manx side hit back with tries from Arno Cruywagen and Andy Pease. Tom Chamberlain added a conversion and Vagabonds led 12-5 at half-time. Anselmians came back strongly in the second-half but Vagas held on to earn their second victory of the season. Captain Kevin Birchall said: "It was our best performance of the season by a mile. "We've got most of our players back now and we're hoping we can go on a good run and climb the table." Meanwhile, Douglas beat Wallasey 39-15 in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division Two. The victory sees Douglas move up to fourth in the table. In the Shimmin Wilson Manx Shield, Douglas B drew 25-25 with Southern Nomads at Port-e-Chee. Also in the Manx Shield, Castletown beat Emerging Nomads 17-3 and Ramsey B thrashed Vagabonds B 42-0 at Mooragh Park.
