Jersey have been dominant at home this year |
A rampant Jersey host Hayward's Heath in their National League Three rugby match on Saturday. Jersey have been dominant in their two home games of the season, running in 112 points and conceding just five. Hayward's Heath are second bottom in the table, but despite their lowly position Jersey head coach Ben Harvey will not be taking them lightly. "I'm always very nervous of sides that have nothing to lose like Hayward's. It makes them dangerous," he said. Jersey defeated Old Albanians in a closely fought game last week, with a performance that impressed Harvey. | We know we're not just a club side but play for the Island as a whole Jersey head coach Ben Harvey |
"Last week's game showed a lot of character. We didn't play particularly well against a very tough opposition, so to come out winners in a game you don't play well in is a great sign." Since Harvey took charge of the Island side at the start of last season his aim has been to make Jersey as difficult a place to play at as possible. "If you can make life difficult for people and a place that teams don't want to come and play then it's a huge advantage for us." And Harvey added that local crowds would have a big part to play in his plans. "We've had terrific crowds so far and the boys really do play for them. We know we're not just a club side but play for the Island as a whole," he added. Kick off is at 15:00 BST.
