Exeter Chiefs remain the only unbeaten team in the Championship after they secured a close-fought win over London Welsh at Sandy Park. The Chiefs were made to work hard by Welsh, and only managed to score one try, with Neil Clark going over in the first period. Fly-half Gareth Steenson was once again on top form for the Chiefs, kicking two penalties and a conversion. Welsh's points came courtesy of three Aled Thomas penalties. The Chiefs are now three points clear at the top of the Championship after six games, while Welsh are in seventh.
