Mariner made 135 appearances for the Pilgrims between 1973 and 1976
Former Plymouth and Ipswich striker Paul Mariner has said that he is open to the possibility of returning to English football as a manager.
Mariner, 56, who has been linked with a return to Argyle as assistant manager, is currently coaching at Major League Soccer side New England Revolution.
"I would like to be a manager but whether it's in this country, who knows," Mariner told BBC Spotlight.
"Nobody's ever offered me anything, so I just get on with what I get on with."
Mariner, who won 35 caps for England, scored 56 goals in his three-year spell at Home Park between 1973 and 1976.
"I've worked with high-end international players for a long time," he said. "The best part of 14 years.
"I've got a lot of experience, have worked with some very good people and have learnt a lot off them."
