Luctonians grabbed their first win of the season |
Luctonians claimed the local bragging rights after a hard-fought win against rivals Malvern at Kingsland in National Three Midlands. Steve Jacques crossed the line early on but Lucs were pegged back as Malvern took a 14-7 half-time lead through tries from Tom Hales and Tom Beechey. Lucs flanker Paul Hulland then scored two tries, before home full-back Michael Thompson made the score 27-14. Bromsgrove are in second place after a 21-20 win against South Leicester. Ben Copson's dramatic conversion won it with the last kick of the game. Brosmgrove's Jamie Lloyd-Jones had scored a try from a five-metre scrum with just seconds left on the clock to give Copson the chance to poach victory. Meanwhile Hereford demolished Bedford Athletic 66-12 at Wyeside, running in 10 tries. Adam Knight got hat-trick of scores, while prop Harry Jenkins crossed the line twice. Sean Day, Adam Gwynne and Gary Preece also scored tries with Dean Powell converting seven kicks.
