Pressure on Lions to perform - Ellis

Leicester Tigers scrum-half Harry Ellis believes he could still force his way into the British and Irish Lions Test side despite Mike Phillips's fine form.

Phillips played in the first Test but Ellis, who started against the Emerging Springboks on Tuesday, remains hopeful.

When asked if could make the starting line-up for the second Test with South Africa, Ellis said: "Yeah, for sure.

"There is a lot of competition. But any guy that puts on the shirt will put in a good performance."

He added: "In my position Mike Phillips has been playing really well and so has Mike Blair but all the guys are looking to get selected."

Ellis also said that despite not forcing his way into the starting line-up yet, the experience of touring with the Lions has been wonderful.

"I'm loving being here. It's a great place to play rugby and train," he added.
