Mounts Bay prop Tim Mathias has signed for their Cornish rivals Launceston for next season.

Mathias joined Bay at the start of the season after being released by Plymouth Albion but was looking to move on amid the financial problems at the club.

"I've really enjoyed my time here, it's just a shame that money issues have hit the club but that's the way the world is at the moment," Mathias said.

Bay are already relegated to National League Three South for next season.

"The spirit amongst the boys has never wavered and we'll keep on fighting to the end of the season for the club and for the supporters, who have been fantastic, " he added.
