Cowling says the Chiefs are already looking at new signings for next term |
Exeter Chiefs caretaker manager Robin Cowling says the club are looking at new signings, even though they will not have a new boss until the summer. Cowling has been in the Chiefs' hot-seat for a week after director of rugby Pete Drewett was sacked last Tuesday. "New signings are being looked at to strengthen the team because we are still a very ambitious club," he told BBC Radio Devon. "There will be some announcements fairly soon on new signings." "The new signings are there to strengthen our position and really push us on for next year," he said. And Cowling says he has not spoken to the Chiefs' management about who will take over in summer, or indeed if he would like to apply for the role of director of rugby. "I think my role is to just let everybody have a little bit of thinking time and to be honest we haven't really discussed that. "Let's get on with what we can control and that's getting the results we need for the rest of this season," he added.
