Leeds' Clark out of Bedford game

Calum Clark
Clarke is the England under-20 captain

Leeds Carnegie will be without Calum Clark for Saturday's National League One encounter at third-placed Bedford Blues (kick-off 1500 GMT).

The England under-20 flanker is expected to be out for another two weeks due to a fractured hand.

Director of rugby Andy Key told BBC Radio Leeds: "We hoped Calum would have been back for this one after missing the Doncaster game.

"But it looks like that won't be right for at least another two weeks."

Leeds will also be without fellow flanker Jacob Rowan, who is on England under-20 duty, as they look to get back to winning ways after their defeat at Doncaster Knights.

Key added: "The danger is that we apply too much empathises and put too much unnecessary pressure on ourselves. It's another game.

"What the defeat has done is given us a kick up the bum and rightly so.

"The players still recognise the ability they have. We haven't become a bad team over night and the danger is that people start to think that.

"What this has done is bring a greater resolve and greater strength to the squad. We still know that it is in our hands to go back up."
