Ally Muldowney finished off a slick move for Moseley's first score |
Moseley face an uneasy end to the season after wasting several good chances to lose 23-17 at Esher. The Birmingham-based club are clinging to 11th position in National One by their fingertips, a single point ahead of Esher who are in the drop zone. It looked like Moseley were going to chalk up a vital victory when Ollie Thomas put them 17-16 in front with a late penalty. But a poor clearance saw Esher cross for their 77th minute winning try. It was the second costly error of the game for the visitors following on from George Lowe's interception try, which handed Esher an early lead. Tries from lock Ally Muldowney and fly-half Tristan Roberts kept Moseley in touch throughout before those calamitous final moments. The result puts extra pressure on next weekend's home game against Sedgley Park, who will come to Billesley Common lying 14th in National One.
