Fly-half Gareth Steenson's injury-time penalty put Exeter Chiefs into the semi-finals of the National Trophy for the fourth successive year. The Chiefs started the tie strongly and tries from flanker Tom Johnson and wing Tom Bedford gave the visitors a 14-3 lead at the break. Doncaster fought back to pull level through wing Andy Wright's try. The score then moved to 17-17 before Steenson stepped up to kick the winning points and send Exeter through.
