Cornish Pirates ended a difficult week with a 37-26 win over Moseley, whose relegation worries have deepened. Acting coach Brett Davey inspired his Pirates to a fine comeback after Moseley took a 13-0 lead in the first half and still led 16-10 at the break. Pirates scored four tries, with Nicky Griffiths scoring a hat-trick, after an early Moseley penalty try. Jack Adams scored a consolation try for Moseley, who are one place above the drop zone, in the closing minutes. The Pirates are sixth in National One, five places above the Birmingham side. Davey took over at the Pirates helm following the termination of Mark Hewitt's contract as coach. Next weekend, Moseley return to EDF Energy National Trophy action with a trip to London Welsh in the quarter-finals.
