Truro College are one win away from a final at Twickenham after beating Lymm High School 15-8 to reach the last four of the Daily Mail Under-18 cup. Winger Sam Newman's 17th minute try gave Truro a 5-0 half time lead. Lymm hit back with a try soon after the restart to make it 5-5, but Hano Dougson scored under the posts to give Truro a 12-5 lead. Lymm closed the gap with a penalty but a Truro penalty right at the end pushed the Cornish side into the last four.
"It was a really hard fought game against a very well organised side," coach Will Davis told BBC Radio Cornwall after the win on Wednesday. Truro saw Mounts Bay and England under 20s centre Josh Matavesi come on as a late replacement, his first game back after breaking his collarbone. They will hope he is fully fit for the semi final at Broadstreet Rugby Club in Coventry on Saturday, 14 March. "We've got to take a game at a time and it's still a long way away, but the boys are certainly up for it," Davis said.
