Leeds' Strange to face old club

Leeds Carnegie have made seven changes for Sunday's Yorkshire derby with Rotherham Titans at Headingley.

Jason Strange is selected at fly-half to face his former club while in the backs Leigh Hinton goes to full-back and centre Scott Barrow starts.

In the forwards captain Mike MacDonald returns at prop, Rhys Oakley starts at number eight and Phil Murphy and Jon Pendlebury come in at second row.

League leaders Leeds have won all 18 National League One games this season.

Rotherham have lost their last two and are ninth in the league.

Leeds director of rugby Andy Key told BBC Radio Leeds: "It's another Yorkshire derby, we've had a good few this season and know how tough they are.

"We expect nothing less than 100% from Rotherham and they've been playing some smart rugby.

"We need to be spot on in defensive and attack to win."

Rotherham can boost being the team to score the most points against high flying Leeds in a single game this season.

No other team has matched the 24 points they scored in their 41-24 defeat at Clinton Lane in September.

Key added: "Rotherham have a good balance between their forwards and backs.

"They are not afraid to spin the ball wide with come backs that can cut you in two.

"We can't afford to give them time or space to do that.

Meanwhile long term absentee, hooker Vili Ma'asi, will make his return from a major bicep injury in Monday night's Guinness A league game against Bath at West Park Leeds (KO 1900 GMT).

Fellow front rower, Argentina international Juan Gomez, will also play in that game after a calf problem.

BBC Radio Leeds has full match commentary of Leeds v Rotherham on 774 AM, DAB and online at bbc.co.uk/leeds on Sunday from 14.50 GMT.
