We have a had a minor setback but we have been honest with each other in the appraisal and need to bounce back.

Saturday was an extremely frustrating affair.

We had such high expectations leading into the game and we didn't meet them.

All credit to Esher as they defended very well, competed particularly hard at the breakdown and stopped us playing.

We dominated possession but lost the ball at crucial times and it hurt us. It was not a happy place afterwards knowing that we had let an opportunity slip.

Today everybody turned up with a real positive attitude. We have a had a minor setback but we have been honest with each other in the appraisal and need to bounce back.

There is no time to feel sorry for ourselves as we have such an important game this weekend and we have to be mentally up to the challenge.

It doesn't get any easier as we face league leaders and title favourites Leeds Carnegie at Headingley.

Esher performance disappoints Stuart-Smith

Their tails will definitely be up after getting a much coveted away win at Nottingham on Sunday, which is no mean feat. The fact that they are unbeaten shows they are an outstanding side.

On a lighter note, the changing room is where a lot of weird and wonderful activities happen on a daily basis.

It doubles up as a team room in between sessions and so there is always some sort of tomfoolery going on.

You can often hear John Andress telling stories of why he should have been playing prop for Ireland when he was 14-years-old and Tom "Weizerschnitzel" Johnson singing one of his made up German rap anthems while drying his hair with a "Don't Hassle The Hoff" towel.

Secret Santa made an early "invisible" appearance on Saturday.

Jason Luff was the receiver of a personal motivational pack and we are fortunate to have an action picture of Luffy doing his recovery on Sunday morning showing how much it has helped him.

A lot of lads have the same style of boots and it's not uncommon for mix ups to occur. After one of the sessions one of the lads complained of trying to run in a straight line but ended up drastically veering off to the left.

He even commented that his left foot felt a little heavier. When it was pointed out that he was wearing a size 13 boot on his left foot and a size 8 on his right all became clear.

Apparently, he put the "simple" mistake down to it being early and the important fact that he had only had half a cup of coffee.
