Brian Tuohy scored a hat-trick for the Pirates

Cornish Pirates head coach Mark Hewitt says he is pleased with the way his side performed in the first half of their 38-23 win at London Welsh.

Dan Tuohy's hat-trick set the side on their way and led 22-13 at half time.

"We were pretty sharp. At half time we got our noses in front and that's the first time really we've been not chasing a game all season."

"We were in a pretty comfortable position at half time," he added as he saw his side moved up to seventh.

They are now just two points behind the exiles in the National League One table.
