Vagabonds keep up perfect record

Catrina Beswick scored Vagas' first-ever league try against Manchester.
Vagas are now just one point behind Manchester with a game in hand

Vagabonds Ladies defeated Eccles 29-0 at Glencrutchery Road on Saturday to move within a point of leaders Manchester in North West Division Two.

The Manx side started well and at half time led 12-0 through tries from Fran Hunt and Lizzie Lennon.

In the second half Vagas outplayed a determined Eccles in almost every department as Lennon completed a hat-trick and Hunt also crossed again.

"This is another important result for us," coach Darren Cook said.

"The side know it was far from a complete performance but there are many positives to be taken from the game.

"Our defence is fully committed and organised and the back line has the pace to threaten any side in the division."

The win moves Vagas to within a point of Manchester with a game in hand over their rivals.

Vagabonds next game is the crucial clash against the Mancunians on 6 December.
