Jersey triumph in the wind and rain |
Jersey defeated Luton 17-0 in atrocious conditions to claim their first London One home victory of the season. Despite battling driving wind in the first half, Jersey dominated and were unlucky to be 0-0 at the interval. But with twenty-five minutes to go No 8 Henry Rheeders took advantage of a Luton error to touch down. Teenage winger Mark Livesey then outpaced the Hatters defence to score a second try and in the last minute Charlie Clyde-Smith added a third. Jersey are now joint fourth on eight points with four other teams, including Luton. Head coach Ben Harvey was full of praise for his team: "That was a great team effort. I thought their character was absolutely fantastic. "It's going to be a very competitive league. I think anyone on their day can beat anybody else."
