Pirates duo go out on loan to Bay

Mounts Bay

Mounts Bay have signed the two youngest members of the Cornish Pirates squad on loan for the season.

England Academy players Richard Bright and Paul Andrew will bolster the Bay squad, who have yet to win a match in National League Two this season.

Eighteen-year-old Bright is a full-back or winger who has played for South West under-18s and Devon under-20s.

Nineteen-year-old prop Andrew rejoins the Bay having played for them in National Three South last season.

He also played for Cornwall in the 2008 County Championship Shield competition.

The pair joined the Pirates during the summer.

"Both youngsters have great potential and it is felt that to allow them to play competitive rugby at a high level will be beneficial for their careers," said Pirates chief executive Rod Coward.

"As England Academy players they will be dual-registered and could return to Cornish Pirates whenever required and more than likely will be expected to do so for CRFU Super Cup games," he added.
