Jersey see off Sutton and Epson

Jersey Rugby
Coach Ben Harvey is pleased with players' discipline

Jersey Rugby Club have made it two wins from two in London One following their 32-17 victory at Sutton and Epson.

Steve O'Brian scored Jersey's only try in a tense first half as they led 10-8 at the break.

They dominated in the scrummaging in the second half as well as in the line-out, and four second-half tries took them to third in the table.

Hendry Rheeders, Luke Le Sueur and two tries from captain Vee sealed the victory for the island in Surrey.

Head coach Ben Harvey said: "Last week the backs got on the score sheet more than the forwards and this week it was a bit of a role rehearsal with Vee getting two good tries."

Both O'Brian and Mike Le Bourgeois came off with leg injuries, but it is hoped they will be ready for Saturday's first home game of the season against Norfolk side North Walsham.
