Roberts returns to Cornwall after nine seasons with Newbury |
Launceston have completed the signing of utility back Mal Roberts. The Redruth-born 31-year-old returns to the county with the Cornish All Blacks after spending nine seasons with National League One side Newbury. "I've got a lot of experience but it's a question of settling in early and helping Launceston get back to Division One," Roberts told BBC South West. The Cornishman, who has also skippered the Army side, will now be posted to the 29 Commando Regiment in Plymouth. Roberts' return to the south west has been a move he was keen to make and one that Launceston's joint head coach Jon Hill was happy to help facilitate. Roberts is expected to go straight into Launceston's squad for their first pre-season friendly against Exmouth on Saturday.
