Launceston have launched their new away kit for the upcoming season and will help charity Cancer Research UK at the same time.

The Cornish All Blacks' new pink kit will be worn in every away game in their 2008/09 National Two campaign.

Four pounds from every sale of the pink shirts will be donated to the charity.

Centre Ryan Westren said: "We are proud to wear the pink shirts. We are expecting a bit of ribbing and it will only make us more determined to win."

"Anything that reaches all of the different people that can be affected by breast cancer is good," said Cancer Research's Sam Williams.

"I feel that I've finally touched my feminine side," said joint head coach Jon Hill.

Hill expects his men to get some stick from opposing fans when they wear the shirts on their travels.

First of all I was a bit apprehensive, but now I've see it, it's very nice

"As long as they understand the reasons behind it, I think it's important. A couple of Premiership sides looked at it for one game last year. We've decided to take the brave step and do it for the whole season."

Players and officials at the club have had a number of friends and family members affected by cancer over the past year, so the decision to bring in the new shirts was almost unanimous.

"First of all I was a bit apprehensive," said captain Keith Brooking. "But now I've seen it, it's very nice. It's a bit different, but it looks good."
