The club hope to find the next generation of Siam Cup winners

Guernsey Rugby Club hope to announce who their new development officer will be in the next week.

Director Geoff Renouf told BBC Guernsey that the club have offered the post to a candidate.

"We're waiting on his decision whether he's happy with the package we've put together," he said.

"We're hoping to actually announce the person in the next week or so. We're hoping for him to be in place by the start of September."

The development officer's role will be to encourage more people to play the game, particularly youngsters.

The job will involve going into schools trying to persuade boys and girls to take up the sport.
