The Exeter Chiefs have signed 23-year-old South African centre Bryan Rennie from London Irish. Rennie is the sixth player to sign for Exeter in the past month as Director of Rugby Pete Drewett looks to push for National One's top spot next season. Rennie has also played for Border Reivers and Watsonians in Scotland, where he scored more than 20 tries. "I am certain he will make a significant contribution throughout next season," Drewett said. "Bryan comes to us with a wealth of top flight experience at London Irish. We are already looking forward to working with him." Rennie does not have the same work permit issues that scuppered Plymouth Albion's Jannie Bornman's move to the Cornish Pirates as he qualifies as a European player through his Aberdeen-born father. Rennie was part of the Super 14 club Natal Shark's under 20's squad before coming to the UK.
