Centre Sonny Parker has been playing well for the Ospreys |
Wales v Pacific Islands
Millennium Stadium, Cardiff
Saturday, 11 November
Kick-off: 1430 GMT
*Live on BBC One, BBC Radio Wales & Radio Cymru, and this websiteOspreys centre Sonny Parker has come out of international retirement after being called into the Wales squad.
Parker quit after last year's 24-22 win over Australia saying he could no longer give Wales his full commitment.
But the New Zealand-born 29-year-old, who has 18 caps, hinted this season that he might be available and comes in for the injured Hal Luscombe.
"Hal Luscombe's hamstring injury has not recovered and Sonny will join us," said Wales attack coach Nigel Davies.
"Hal was unable to play (for Harlequins) at the weekend and we needed to fill that role.
"Sonny has been playing some good rugby. He has got a lot of experience.
"He is a powerful and strong player and he's been playing well for the Ospreys.
"We have got a policy of having a full and a fit team where possible."
Whether Parker will figure in Wales' plans for the next two matches remains to be seen, with coach Gareth Jenkins set to name his team to face the Pacific Islands on Wednesday.
"We have said from the start that we have a clean slate selection wise and that past reputation and any history with players will be disregarded," said Jenkins.
"So we ignored the fact that Sonny had announced his retirement and went about trying to tempt him back into the fold.
"We have identified that Sonny has been playing well, we have asked him to make himself available for his country and he has accepted - which is great news for Wales."
After the Pacific Islands, Wales then face Canada before wrapping up their autumn series with a 25 November date against New Zealand.
