It ended in a draw but it was a fantastic game of rugby.

Both sides gave it everything and in the end I think it was a fair result. No-one deserved to lose that game.

Both sides took their opportunities, Australia at the start and Wales before and after half-time.

It sets it up nicely for their meeting in the World Cup back here in Cardiff.

I think a draw was about right.

Both teams were flat out on their feet at the end, although for a while I thought Wales looked the fitter team.

But Australians in all sports have that never-say-die attitude and they battled right to the end.

I think Australia have turned over a new leaf. They realise they have got talented players who can use the ball, and they don't have to be so constructed in their play.

But if they want to compete at the World Cup they have really got to shore up their scrum, which was shown up again.

For their first game of the season, it was a great performance by Wales.

James Hook showed a lot of composure when he came on at fly-half when Stephen Jones was forced off.

Wales' dilemma now is how often can they get him to play in this team?

I don't think they need to protect him. I think they can throw him into more matches like this.
