Stormers stun Waratahs
Breyton Paulse
Stormers 27-23 Waratahs
Bulls 32-21 Brumbies
Reds 20-3 Auckland
Cats 25-42 Hurricanes
Highlanders 35-36 Sharks
The New South Wales Waratahs had their unbeaten start to the Super 12 season ended by the Stormers at Newlands.

The hosts won 27-23 and scored four tries to secure a bonus point and end the Waratahs' three-match winning run.

Winger Breyton Paulse dotted down twice and Chris Rossouw added a try, two conversions and a penalty.

The Waratahs, without Wallaby Matt Rogers who was injured last week, scored three tries and snared a bonus point for losing by less than seven.

The only other unbeaten side, the ACT Brumbies, lost to the Northern Bulls 32-21.

Piet Krause grabbed two tries for the Bulls who added a bonus point with four tries while the Brumbies crossed the line three times.

Defending champions Auckland slipped to their third Super 12 defeat in four games as Wallaby full-back Chris Latham inspired Queensland to a 20-3 victory.

Latham scored a try in each half and Wendell Sailor added a superb solo score to put the Reds in command.

Auckland, without injured fly-half Carlos Spencer, could only manage a penalty from Ben Atiga as they spurned several try-scoring opportunities.

It was their lowest points tally in the nine-year history of the Super 12.

Ma'a Nonu made one try and scored another
Nonu made amends after his ban
Earlier on Saturday, Ma'a Nonu and Neemia Tialata returned from suspensions to spur Wellington to a 42-25 win over the Cats.

All Blacks centre Nonu scored one try and made another within 20 minutes to put the Hurricanes in charge.

Tialata took the field as a replacement to sustain a robust forward effort as Wellington earned a bonus point.

A Nonu break led to the first of the Hurricanes' five tries, scored by fullback Brent Ward, and he went over for the second on a solo run.

Tialata featured in the forward interplay which led to the third try by Paul Tito as the Hurricanes took a 21-6 half-time lead.

An interception by centre Tane Tuipulotu, a late replacement for injured captain Tana Umaga, gave the home side a four-try bonus point minutes after the break.

Fly-half David Holwell, returning after suffering a broken hand in the first match of the season, added 17 points with the boot.

Former Springboks fly-half Andre Pretorius scored a try in a 15 point-haul for the Cats, who fought back with late tries from Os du Randt and Gerhard Visloo,.

Craig Davidson
Davidson made up for his sin-binning against ACT last week
But the Hurricanes had the last word with a first Super 12 try for wing Roy Kinikinlau in the final minute.

On Friday, Butch James converted Craig Davidson's last-minute try to give the Sharks a dramatic 36-35 victory over Otago in Dunedin.

The visitors had looked on course for a big defeat, trailing 32-15 with just 20 minutes remaining.

But a storming 20-point surge in the final quarter, including two tries from Davidson, saw the Sharks become the first South African team to win at Carisbrook in the Super 12.
