Wigan forward Gareth Hock has signed a one-year extension to his contract to keep him at the JJB Stadium until the end of 2011. "I am a Wigan lad and I love playing for my home town club," he said. "I am aiming to have a good second half to the season with the hope of helping Wigan to a Final and being selected for England in the World Cup". Wigan coach Brian Noble said: "It was a pleasure working with Gareth when I was GB coach and my admiration has grown." Noble added: "He is a tough, resilient player who wears his heart on his sleeve and is also a very good footballer". The Great Britain international is a product of the Club's successful scholarship programme.
