Wigan have handed highly-rated second row forward Gareth Hock a new contract that will keep him at the JJB Stadium until the end of the 2008 season. The 22-year-old missed virtually the whole of the 2005 season after sustaining a serious knee injury.
"Gareth is one of our most exciting young players and we are predicting a bright future for him," said Wigan chairman Maurice Lindsay.
"He is one of many players to come through our scholarship ranks."
