Warriors deny Gregory exit
Mike Gregory
Gregory has missed this season because of ill health
Wigan have denied reports that coach Mike Gregory is set to step down from his role due to ill health.

The 40-year-old has been away from his post since starting treatment for a muscle-wasting disease in the summer.

It was reported he was unlikely to return but Wigan said no decision had yet been made.

"We're continuing with one coach and there is no permanency intended until Mike's position is clearer," said chairman Maurice Lindsay.

"He is still employed by us, we have continued to pay him from day one.

"We spoke with Mike yesterday and again this evening and he is happy to make it known that he has a neurological problem.

"But we did not come to a decision other than to leave the medical issue to his advisors."

Gregory's assistant, Denis Betts, has been in charge for the team for the last four months.
