Widnes have signed Wigan's former Great Britain internationals Terry O'Connor and Mick Cassidy for the 2005 season. "For me to leave Wigan after 10-and-a-half years it had to be the right club and there was only one I thought big enough," the 32-year-old O'Connor said.
"I'm a Widnes lad but have never played for them and it is a great honour."
Widnes have already signed Jon Whittle and Sala Fa'alongo, while Luke Robinson and David Hodgson have also left Wigan to sign for Salford.
A Widnes spokesman said: "Terry and Mick are great signings for the Vikings.
"They bring not only great experience to the side but also an ethic that is instilled into players that compete week in week out at the highest level.
"We have some great young forwards on our books and these two players will play a vital role in their development."
