Solomona was part of New Zealand's 2005 Tri-Nations team |
Warrington and former New Zealand international forward David Solomona has been given a new one-year contract after proving his fitness. The 32-year-old ex-Wakefield player joined Wolves in September after an injury-hit season with Bradford. "He's had a strong year so far and is getting fitter all the time," said Warrington coach Tony Smith. "His form has been very good and he is such an exciting player to watch, adding a lot to us." Solomona has only missed one match to date for Wolves and has agreed to stay at the Halliwell Jones Stadium until the end of 2011. The announcement came three days before Solomona is due to return to Odsal for Wolves' Carnegie Challenge Cup quarter-final against his old club. "A lot of emphasis is put on the Challenge Cup and we will need to be prepared for a big game, especially with the likes of Matt Orford and Paul Sykes in their squad," said Solomona. "I'm really happy to have agreed an extension as I am enjoying being part of the club. "Warrington Wolves is a team that is going places and I'm still looking to win something."
