Clarke was disappointed with the Super League defeat against Wigan |
Warrington hooker Jon Clarke says his side will not be distracted from Friday's game with Wakefield by the upcoming Challenge Cup final. The Wolves face Huddersfield in the showpiece on 29 August in their first trip to Wembley in 19 years. "I don't think its a problem for us," Clarke told BBC Radio Merseyside. "Our position in Super League brings your thought process back to the game in hand this week, which is a very difficult one against Wakefield." Clarke concedes there may be additional pressure on Friday because it is the last chance for the fans to see their team before the cup final on 29 August. "That's what the fans are looking for - for us to perform well," Clarke said. "So are we and that's what we are going to be about in training this week. "We're looking to put in the right performance - which probably wasn't there against Wigan as we didn't perform that well. Hopefully we'll get the performance right and pick some points up along the way." You can hear more from Jon Clarke on 'Try Time' on BBC Radio Merseyside on Thursday, starting at 1905 BST.
