Briers has scored seven tries this season

Challenge Cup finalists Warrington have been boosted by the news that Lee Briers' facial injury is not as serious as first thought.

The half-back did not reappear for the second half of Wolves' 36-16 defeat at Wigan on Friday after taking an accidental blow from Pat Richards.

But X-rays at the weekend and a scan on Monday revealed no serious damage.

Briers may now feature in Friday's Super League clash with Wakefield Trinity Wildcats.
