Chris Riley has said he wants to be the number one choice as Warrington Wolves' full-back in the Super League.

Riley has fitted in well as a utility player for Tony Smith's side who have forced their way into the top seven.

"I make any denials about which position I want to play and it's full-back," he told BBC Radio Manchester.

"I just enjoy the freedom of full-back and probably the responsibility that comes with it and I know a few people don't like that responsibility."

He added: "I've played there for the last couple of years for the academy and got some good praise.

"When I came into this year Jimmy (Lowes) gave me the chance to play there. Like I said, I want to be a full-back but I don't mind playing on the wing either as I'm a natural winger.

"There's nothing that bothers me about playing on the wing though sometimes you don't get as much ball as you want, it's just part and parcel of that job."
