Tronc will return home to Australia with his family |
Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have released Australian prop forward Shane Tronc from his contract. Tronc signed on a two-year deal from North Queensland Cowboys last winter but asked to leave after his wife failed to settle in West Yorkshire. The 28-year-old played in each of the Wildcats 11 Super League games this season and scored one try. As part of his severance agreement he cannot sign for any English or French club until November 2012. Diane Maskill, the Wildcats' executive director, said: "We're disappointed to be losing a quality player like Shane but we have a duty of care to the people who work for the club. "It's a very sad situation, we understand Shane's need to see his family settled but we also need a player to be an integral part of the squad." The club's management are seeking an immediate replacement for Tronc in their first-team squad.
