St Helens centre Chris Dean says his side are guilty of easing off on teams once they are comfortably in front. Saints beat Harlequins 44-24 on Saturday but Dean believes his side gave away points needlessly in the second half. He told BBC Radio Merseyside: "Once you're up, you tend to take your foot off the gas and we shouldn't do. "We should be kicking on and finishing teams off and sending a message out to the rest of the league," he added. "It was a little disappointing in the second half but at the end of the day we came for the two points. We're two points ahead of Leeds [so we must] kick on." Next up for St Helens is the local derby with a much-improved Wigan at Knowsley Road on Friday, and Dean believes it will be a tough test for the leaders. "It's always hard against Wigan," Dean continued. "It's a massive game - [our] biggest game of the season [is]Wigan at home. "But we've played well against Harlequins and hopefully we can kick on now."
