Holdsworth's injury flared up during the 30-26 win against Bradford |
Salford's Daniel Holdsworth will not play again this season after revealing he needs surgery on a shoulder injury. The half-back, 26, has been playing with the problem, but will undergo an operation on Wednesday. He told BBC Radio Manchester's Rugby League Extra: "It's a bit disappointing but the doctor said 'just keep playing as long as it's not too painful'. "It's been pulling up alright but against Bradford it wasn't too good," he added. Holdsworth has impressed in his first season with the Reds and recently signed a three-year contract extension. The former Canterbury Bulldogs player also played a key part in bringing in his former team-mate Luke Patten to The Willows. Patten agreed a three-year deal with Salford on Monday.
