Salford second row forward Ian Sibbit has avoided a ban despite testing positive for a banned substance.

The 28-year-old former Warrington player has been reprimanded for overuse of the asthma drug Salbutamol.

Sibbit had faced a possible two-year ban and was delighted to be allowed to concentrate on his rugby.

"I have now been advised by the doctor on ways to manage my asthma effectively. This will not be a mistake I will be repeating," he said.
