Catalans Dragons (22) 40 Tries: Pelo, Bird, Mounis. Ryles 2, Greenshields 2 Goals: Bosc 6
Wigan (14) 24 Tries: Roberts, Ainscough, Gleeson, S Tomkins, RichardsGoals: Richards 2
Catalans Dragons blitzed a tired Wigan outfit with a powerful display to claim a comfortable win. Clint Greenshields and Jason Ryles each touched down twice as the Dragons followed up their win at Harlequins. Dimitri Pelo, Greg Bird and Gregory Mounis also got on the scoresheet with Thomas Bosc kicking six goals. Wigan looked lively early on with tries from Amos Roberts, Shaun Ainscough and Martin Gleeson but soon faded and two late tries were little consolation.
Catalans coach Kevin Walters: "I thought our second half was good with our attack but allowing a couple of tries to Wigan diminishes the scoreline a little bit. "I thought we would have half a chance today because Wigan put a lot into their Thursday night game. Today they were a bit off their game and we were just a little bit better. "It's good so far but we are still only on six points. We have got a lot of work to do but it is looking a lot better than it was even a week ago." Wigan coach Brian Noble: "After 20 minutes we lost our composure and couldn't hold on to the ball. We were disrespectful of the ball and gave Catalans free field position. They capitalised on that and it was a missed opportunity. "There is always an element of fatigue at Easter in your second game but you have to look after the ball and make sure you don't have to bend your backs as much as we did. "If you give a team like Catalans, who have some fantastic offensive players, that amount of ball they are going to cause trouble. We didn't help ourselves and there are things we need to look at."
