Guisset punished the Quins defence in both halves of the match |
Jerome Guisset's two tries ensured Catalans Dragons recorded only their second Super League win of the season, by beating inconsistent Harlequins. The France captain went over in each half with Casey McGuire, Clint Greenshields and Olivier Elima also scoring for the Dragons. Quins struggled to get into the game but made a late charge. However, tries from Mat Gardner, Jason Golden, Louie McCarthy-Scarsbrook and Chris Melling were not enough.
Harlequins coach Brian McDermott: "Defensively I thought we were quite strong but you can't get away with giving them as much ball as we did. "There were a lot of unforced errors though and they cost us in the end. It is a bit of a concern but I hope we can cut them out before we go to Celtic Crusaders on Monday. "As a team I thought we were okay but some individuals didn't perform like we know they can but it is my role as coach to try to help them through that." Catalans Dragons coach Kevin Walters: "I think it was a fully deserved win. The first half was pretty gritty to be honest. "We've been underperforming until we beat Bradford in the cup last week but that's two wins in a row for us now and we haven't had that consistency all year. "It's very pleasing from my point of view and particularly for the players as well - they are the ones under the pump."
