Haggerty is an Irish international

Harlequins have signed Salford prop Gareth Haggerty on a two-year contract.

The 26-year-old Irish international played for Widnes and St Helens before joining the Reds in 2003, and is the latest post-relegation departure.

"He's a player with huge potential, who is making the smart move down to London to realise his potential," said Harlequins coach Brian McDermott.

"He is no stranger to the try line, and will bring size and weight in to the Harlequins pack."
