Faumuina joined the Warriors in 2002 |
Harlequins have completed the signing of Sione Faumuina from the New Zealand Warriors on a three-year deal. The 25-year-old back rower, who missed the end of the NRL season because of a wrist injury, is the Quins' third signing for the 2007 campaign.
"I am delighted to be joining what I know to be a very professional organisation," Faumuina told the club's official website.
"Quins have a load of potential and we can be a major force in Super League."
Faumuina made 11 appearances for Canberra in 2001 before joining the Warriors a year later.
He played 88 times for the club, scoring 138 points from 18 tries and 33 goals but his wrist injury prevented him making his 100th NRL appearance.

Faumuina also made three appearances for Hull while on a short-term contract last season and has two New Zealand caps.
"I see this as a chance for me to improve my own game and to help the Harlequins club," he added.
"I've had good talks with head coach Brian McDermott and I like the way he approaches the game. I think I can make a very positive contribution to Quins and to Super League.
"The injury has healed well and I will be able to resume full training in a couple of weeks."
And McDermott believes Faumuina's versatility will be a real asset for his side.
"Sione is very talented player and he has a proven ability to break the line," he said.
"As well as back row he has been very effective at both stand off and centre and I think this addition is another indication that we are preparing to have a very good season in 2007."
Harlequins have also signed Scott Hill from Melbourne Storm and Les Catalans scrum-half Julien Rinaldi.
