 | Wakefield (20) 30 Tries: Wainwright, Jeffries, Domic, Elima, Buchanan Goals: March 5 Hull (16) 32 Tries: Carvell, Swain, Raynor, Chester, Cooke, Faumuina Goals: Brough 4 | Short-term signing Sione Faumuina scored a dramatic late try to hand Hull a thrilling win at Wakefield. The Wildcats led 20-16 after a fluctuating first half in which both sides held the lead at various times. The referee then had to speak to five players after two brawls as the lead continued to change hands until Austin Buchanan put Wakefield ahead. David March missed the conversion for the home side, a costly miss as Faumuina pounced to snatch victory. Wakefield coach Tony Smith: "In my eyes, after the way we played, that was a victory. I told the players through the week that the result didn't matter. "Full credit to Hull. We were the better side for 79 minutes and they were the better side for one. "That's why they're at the top of the league. We have to work hard to bridge the gap and are confident of doing it." Hull coach John Kear: "Our marketing people should be able to sell the ground out three times over for next week's crucial game against Warrington. "We have given the game meaning with a smart performance against a very good Wakefield side. "I was worried at the end but felt we played well enough to deserve the win."
