Winger Lesley Vainikolo scored a Super League record six tries as Bradford demolished Hull to consolidate third place in the table.

Vainikolo touched down twice in the first six minutes before adding a third before half-time.

He grabbed another hat-trick after the break as Stuart Fielden, Shontayne Hape and Joe Vagana also scored.

Gareth Raynor scored Hull's only try as they were sent crashing back to earth after last week's Challenge Cup win.

Vainikolo was delighted to break the record he already had a share in.

There were 11 minutes to go and everyone was telling me 'one more'
Bradford's Lesley Vainikolo
His fifth touchdown took him to a century in just 99 appearances for the Bulls and he smashed the record in dramatic fashion, racing 80m in the final minute of the match.

"It means a lot to me, I never thought I would break the record," said the 26-year-old.

"I was just doing my thing and helping the forwards out. I'm just concentrating on my game, all the records are a bonus to me.

"It was at the back of my mind when I scored the fifth. There were 11 minutes to go and everyone was telling me 'one more'. I think a lot of the credit should go to my partner Shontayne Hape."

I think Bradford were 50 points better than us
Hull coach John Kear
Vainikolo, who was Super League's top try-scorer in 2004, was out for two months earlier in the year with a knee injury but he and centre partner Hape have now scored 16 tries between them in the last four matches.

Hull coach John Kear blamed a Challenge Cup hangover for his side's defeat on Friday.

It was a third League loss in four matches for last weekend's Cup victors and may cost them a top-five place if Warrington beat Salford on Sunday.

"I think the scoreline reflects the performance," he said. "I think Bradford were 50 points better than us.

"The coaching staff and the players are aware that we have let ourselves down. I think it's what everyone feared."
