Dobson has been ever-present for Rovers since his arrival in 2008 |
Hull KR's Michael Dobson has been ruled out for 10 weeks after undergoing surgery on an ankle injury. The 24-year-old scrum-half's run of 78 consecutive appearances came to an end when he missed Sunday's 31-18 defeat by Catalan Dragons. "He picked up a niggling ankle injury a few weeks back," coach Justin Morgan told BBC Radio Humberside. "He's had the operation at the back end of the week just gone and he's going to be missing for about 10 weeks." Morgan added: "We were going try and nurse him through, he's been in constant contact with the surgeon and I made the decision to send him back there this week. "The surgeon said to me the best thing is for him to get the operation now because he's experiencing a little bit more pain than normal." The influential scrum-half made his debut against Harlequins in May 2008 and has been ever-present in the side, scoring 30 tries. His absence will be a massive blow for Rovers, who have lost two of their opening three Super League games this term.
