Danny Brough was instrumental in Huddersfield's hard-fought win
Pressure remains on Hull FC coach Richard Agar after his team lost at Huddersfield, their third successive Super League defeat of the season.
Giants scorched ahead with two David Hodgson tries inside 10 minutes before Hull hit back with a Jordan Turner try.
The visitors struck first after the break with Will Sharp's score which was converted by Joe Westerman.
But tries by Michael Lawrence and Kevin Brown for the home side ensured that Hull remain winless.
Danny Brough was involved in three of Huddersfield's four tries and landed two conversions at the Galpharm Stadium.
The Giants scrum-half provided the telling pass for Hodgson's first try and his kicks through lead to Brown's score and Hodgson's second.
The game was only four minutes old when Brough's pass bounced off Sam Obst and into Hodgson's hands with a clear path to the line.
The Huddersfield winger was also the recipient of Brough's incisive kick six minutes on and when the half-back converted the try he had helped create Hull were suddenly 10-0 behind.
The visitors fought their way back into the match and were rewarded when Turner went over on the half-hour mark.
Sharp appeared to have put Hull right back in the game before the break when he went clean through but was ruled off-side.
But five minutes after the interval the winger was the benefactor of Richard Whiting's deft pass out of hand and he dived over to claim Hull's second try.
Westerman converted to make it 10-10 but Lawrence's solo effort on 62 minutes proved decisive before Brown's try, set up and converted by Brough, sealed the win.
Huddersfield coach Nathan Brown: "It was a tough victory, the opposition came here to play and made us work really hard.
"We're far from the finished article, there are some things we definitely need to work on, but I was really happy with our discipline and ball control.
"We played with discipline and control, we're far from where we want to get to attack-wise, but it was pleasing just to tough out a victory and next week we'll look to improve a little"
Hull FC coach Richard Agar: "The changing room is full of disappointed players. They're not happy at coming away with what they're coming away with.
"That's a good sign. There's plenty of spirit in the side. They showed lots of tenacity to get back in the game.
"We had a pretty intense storm to weather early on. Huddersfield started really well.
"The problem was that we didn't have the ball, and the penalty count was against us.
"I was a little disappointed by some of the penalties we conceded, as it put us under the pump.
"But the players ended the first half in good shape to have earned the right to get back into the contest after a pretty torrid time."
