Hull FC's Danny Nicklas ruled out for the season

Hull FC half-back Danny Nicklas will miss the entire season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury.

Nicklas, 19, has only just recovered from an injury to the same knee although it is not believed to be the same problem.

"Everybody in the squad is really feeling for him at this moment in time," Hull coach Richard Agar told the club's official website.

"He's worked hard to get back playing for the new season."

He added: "To do it so early in his first full time game is a cruel blow for him, but we'll get him looked after, give him the best possible support and he'll bounce back fitter and stronger than before."

Nicklas, who signed his first two-year professional contract last year, was expected to play in the Black and Whites' final pre-season friendly at Castleford on Sunday prior to picking up the injury.

Meanwhile, the Super League club have signed Scottish youngster Chad McGlame on a one-year contract following a two-week trial.

The 19-year old half-back, who has been playing for Scottish Conference side Easterhouse Panthers, will join Hull's elite training squad.
